Governor Hochul also announced that parking will be free at Jones Beach State Park throughout Memorial Day Weekend, making the event even more affordable and accessible for New York families.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that free ticket registration is officially open for the New York State United — 2026 World Cup Watch Experience on Long Island. This first-of-its-kind, free, large-scale public viewing event will take place on June 12 at Stony Brook University and is expected to draw thousands of New Yorkers. The day will consist of two events: the Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina (Group B) World Cup match at 3:00 PM and the USA vs Paraguay (Group D) World Cup match at 9:00 PM. Families, soccer fans and communities across New York can now request tickets to one or both of these events.

This is an award-winning and record-breaking exhibition that uses beautiful works of art made from simple toy bricks to explore animal endangerment, the balance of ecosystems, and mankind’s relationship with nature. The exhibition opens Friday, May 15th for Old Westbury Gardens’ members only, and expands to the public Saturday, May 16, 2026. The exhibition will run through Monday, September 7, 2026.

George Washington's Long Island Spy RingRiverhead, N.Y. - History enthusiasts are invited to uncover the real story behind one of the most fascinating intelligence operations of the American Revolution at a special presentation on Sunday, May 3 from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Naugles Barn at Hallockville Museum Farm (6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead). Former Newsday reporter and author Bill Bleyer will present “The True Story of the Culper Spy Ring,” based on his book George Washington’s Long Island Spy Ring: A History and Tour Guide. The talk will explore the real-life espionage network that operated across Long Island to support George Washington and the Continental Army.

Stony Brook, NY — The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) will host Stony Brook filmmaking brothers Ryan Famulari and Anthony Famulari on April 24th at 7pm at LIMEHOF in Stony Brook (97 Main Street) as part of its Local Filmmaker Series. The two will screen their debut feature ‘Best Man’. The film screening will be followed by Q&A moderated by LIMEHOF Vice Chairman Tom Needham. The event is free for members and $10 for non-members.
