City Service Ladder Truck by Tom Edmonds 2018Southampton, N.Y. – The Southampton Fire Department’s Antique Truck Committee is dusting off their finest historic fire trucks to be shown on the grounds of the Rogers Mansion on Saturday, September 4, 11 am to 4 pm. The City Service Ladder Truck made in 1912 will be a featured attraction. Historic fire-fighting equipment will be on display and include many of Southampton's historic fire trucks. Volunteer firemen and women will answer questions and give demonstrations. Admission is free.

Farmingdale, NY (August 14, 2021) - Long Island’s American Airpower Museum (AAM) will host its Warbirds, Wings and Wheels Show on Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, September 4th and Sunday, September 5th, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Museum, Hangar 3, 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale, New York.  Come to the Museum’s two day spectacular celebrating the history of Aviation and Automobiles!  Get up close and personal with vintage Biplanes, Model A and T Fords, plus the Museum’s fleet of World War II aircraft.  There will be flights available on vintage aircraft, contests, raffles and much, much more.

Alive on 25Riverhead, NYThe Downtown Riverhead Business Improvement District [BID] brought back its largest event,  Alive on 25 [AO25] Thursday, July 15 2021 with the highest turnout in its history; nearly 20,000 people enjoyed the festival, car show and fireworks. AAM C47 boarding the airplaneFarmingdale, NY, July 9, 2021 -- American Airpower Museum (AAM) reintroduced its popular C-47 D-Day Living History Flight Experience on June 12th, completing four historic reenactment flights.  Since then, demand for more flight experiences was so strong that AAM will hold another day-long program on Saturday, July 31st (rain date Sunday, August 1st).  Our WWII Douglas C-47 Skytrain Troop Transporter – “The Gooney Bird” – along with our professional reenactors, provides a breathtakingly realistic recreation of what U.S. Airborne Paratroopers felt on their historic D-Day mission.

ALIVE ON 25 Summer Street FestivalRiverhead, NY (June, 2020) - The Downtown Riverhead Business Improvement District [BID] announces the revival of its largest event,  Alive on 25 [AO25], returning for four Thursday nights in July and August, 2021. It’s the biggest and most anticipated event in Riverhead!

The series kicks off July 1st with fireworks scheduled for 9:15pm. Three events will follow on July 15, 19, and August 12, 2021 (rain date August 19). All events run from 5-9:30pm along Peconic Avenue and Main Street, between Griffing Avenue (west) and Union Avenue (east).

(May 12, 2021) - Memorial Day Weekend is when we honor our fallen Veterans, the sacrifices made by active duty military and those retired from service.  In observance of Memorial Day Weekend, American Airpower Museum (AAM) continues their historic participation in the Jones Beach Air Show, flying their fabled "Arsenal of Democracy" warbirds over Jones Beach on Saturday, May 29th and Sunday, May 30th!  AAM’s fleet of iconic and meticulously restored military aircraft will include a B-25 Mitchell Bomber, Douglas C-47 Skytrain troop transporter, Grumman TBM Avenger Torpedo Bomber, Curtiss P-40 Flying Tiger, P-51D Mustang Fighter, AT-6 Texan Warbird and AT28D5 Nomad Vietnam Era Fighter.

Oyster Bay, NY (May 4) – Planting Fields Foundation (“Planting Fields” or “the Foundation”) announced today its 2021 Catalyst contemporary arts commission entitled, Pastoral (Indoors/Outdoors), a new sound installation by American composer Nico Muhly. The first of its kind at Planting Fields, the installation will be comprised of two parts and accessible via guided tour of the concurrent exhibition, Everett Shinn: Operatics for an immersive intersection of historic and contemporary art. Exhibition tours are always free for Planting Fields Foundation members.

Martha StewartSouthampton, N.Y. – Martha Stewart and many well-known designers are using their considerable talents to create tabletop holiday trees to benefit the Southampton History Museum’s free education programs. A silent auction of the tabletop trees begins Friday, November 27 at 10:00 am and ends Saturday, November 28 at 4:00 pm.

The Carriage House Holiday Shop and Designer Tree Auction will take place during Thanksgiving weekend for a special show and sale of magical treasures. The Southampton History Museum would like to help you get your holiday shopping and decorating off to a fast start.

Planting Fields FoundationOyster Bay, New York – Planting Fields Foundation (“Planting Fields” or “the Foundation”) has opened two new Coe Hall estate tours.

The new estate tours are entitled, “A View from Coe Hall” and “A Place to Rest Your Head”.  These new experiences in Coe Hall represent the first time in nearly three decades that the estate tours have been recreated and renewed. Each tour was reviewed in a rigorous testing process with the Foundation’s experienced guides and docents.  Each tour tells a distinct story about the founders, the family, the love and legacy of art, architecture, horticulture, and preservation.  “A View from Coe Hall” has also been crafted to ensure full accessibility to visitors with mobility devices and will take visitors to the Cloister Garden as well as select rooms within the house.
