Jamesport Meeting HouseJamesport, NY (July 1, 2024) ---The Board of Directors of the Jamesport Meeting House today announced it is organizing an Historic Jamesport House Tour for Saturday, September 14, 2024. The tour – last held in 2011 and back by popular request – offers a look beyond the front doors and garden gates of homes in Jamesport with historical and architectural significance. Also on the tour will be the Jamesport Meeting House erected in 1731 and today is the oldest public building on the East End of Long Island.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the fireworks display at Jones Beach State Park will again take place on Independence Day, July 4, illuminating the sky at Long Island's popular oceanfront park. Swim Across AmericaSwim Across America - Long Island Sound is one of the nation’s largest open water swims and has raised more than $25 million for New York Area Cancer Institutions

Long Island, N.Y. - Swim Across America - Long Island Sound is holding its 32nd annual open water swim on Saturday, July 27, 2024, with more than 800 swimmers and volunteers all making waves to fight cancer. The swim offers four swim distances: a 10k across Long Island Sound, a 5k and 2k point-to-point swim that dives in at the Larchmont Yacht Club and ends at the Larchmont Shore Club, and a ½-mile pool swim at the Larchmont Shore Club.

FCO&PCO_Final concertGarden City, N.Y.— The Pierrot Chamber Music Festival celebrates its 43rd Summer Season this July with a series of six concerts. The Pierrot Chamber Music Festival is an intensive, two-week program for precollege and college students that focuses on the study and performance of standard and new chamber music repertoire. The Festival Concert Series is supported by the Department of Music at Adelphi University and the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the completion of a new Visitor Center, improved parking and enhanced exhibits at Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park on the South Shore of Long Island. The new 1,600 square-foot Visitor Center will educate visitors about the Cutting family and their historic 60-room, Tudor-style mansion, the landscaped grounds with wide variety of trees, shrubs and plants, and the impact of ongoing climate change on Long Island.

Hallockville Museum FarmOne of Long Island’s Largest Celebrations of Fiber Arts and Crafts

Riverhead, NY (April 29) – Historic Hallockville Museum Farm on Long Island’s North Fork will host its annual Fleece and Fiber Festival on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, May 19).  The Hallockville Fleece & Fiber Festival is one of the largest celebrations of the fiber arts in the region and will feature dozens of fiber artisans showcasing their talents, demonstrating their traditional crafts, and selling their creations.
