Albany Pine Bush Discovery CommissionAlbany, NY - The Albany Pine Bush Preserve presents "Nature Night Out", a series of three summer evening events that invite everyone to drop everything and get into nature. The Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center will extend operations until 7:30pm on each of these days, capitalizing on those longer sunlit summer hours. Visitors of all ages can enjoy live music, dine on a meal from food truck vendors, go on a StoryWalk adventure along the trail and learn about the natural & cultural history of the Albany Pine Bush with interactive Discovery Center exhibits.

Maloney III Hall of Animals. Nature Museum Members can get a sneak peek ahead of the public on Saturday & Sunday May 20 & 21, and the Grand Reopening will take place on Saturday and Sunday May 27 & 28, from 12-4pm.

Tupper Lake, N.Y. – The Wild Center is opening for its 2023 season today, May 5. Off the heels of a USA Today Readers’ Award where it was voted Second Best Science Museum in the U.S., The Wild Center has expanded its offerings and activities with new exhibits and experiences. Among these are Backyard Wilderness – a film that captures the beauty and complexity of the natural world that exists just beyond your doorstep and Birdly – a state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) flying simulator.

Tupper Lake, N.Y. – The Wild Center is pleased to announce the launch of The Forest, a new business membership program that offers opportunities for collaboration, professional development, co-promotion, information sharing, and camaraderie. The program celebrates its launch with an event on May 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Wild Center. The event, which is presented by Brooks Reynolds, a Wild Center Trustee and owner of The Reynolds Group, will feature local food from Lakeview Deli, craft beer from Raquette River Brewing and live music from On3.

Tupper Lake, N.Y. – The Wild Center will be awarded “Excellence in Design” for its “Climate Solutions” exhibition by the Museum Association of New York (MANY) at the 2023 annual conference in April. The Wild Center is also extending a “thank you” to fans who voted in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for “Best Science Museum,” which The Wild Center came in second place.

Staatsburg, N.Y. (2/7/2023) — Despite them being all around us, what do we really know about the trees in our local environment? Kids can join Staatsburgh State Historic Site staff for a free, 45-minute guided landscape walk exploring some of the different types of trees found on the grounds of Staatsburgh, along the Hudson River. Staff will guide children ages 7-12 in exploring some of the benefits of various trees, from feeding local animals to beautifying our environment.
