Gore Mountain is excited to unveil its latest addition, The Bear Cub Quad, scheduled to open to the public on Saturday, December 16, 2023. This momentous occasion will be marked by a special event commencing at 9 am in the Snow Sports School Learning Area near the Bear Cub Quad.

Lake Placid, N.Y. – In the winter of 2018-2019, the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid successfully debuted Ski With Andrew, an exclusive opportunity for hotel guests to cruise the trails of nearby Whiteface Mountain with Andrew Weibrecht, Olympic silver and bronze medalist in Super G, and son of resort owners Ed and Lisa Weibrecht. Lake Placid, N.Y. (March 7, 2023) - The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) announces that Season Passes will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8, 2023.  

The SKI3 Season Pass combines Gore Mountain, Belleayre Mountain, and Whiteface Mountain offering 7,300+ vertical feet of skiing and riding on eight peaks, 882 acres, 32 glades, and 250+ trails, and the Mt Van Hoevenberg Season Pass provides 55km of cross country ski trails.

Event features seventeen breweries from throughout upstate New York

Tupper Lake, NY (February 2, 2023) – The Town of Tupper Lake is hosting its annual BrewSki event on Saturday, February 25 from 12-4 p.m. at the Tupper Lake Golf Course.

BrewSki features 17 local and regional breweries that offer samples and the opportunity to learn about regionally produced beers and the breweries that produce them; while skiing, snowshoeing and riding along the trails. Event organizers also arrange fire pits at which to rest along the trail and fat tire bike rental from High Peaks Cyclery. The event culminates with an after party at Raquette River Brewing featuring live music with Mickey and Claire.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the start of the 2022-23 Alpine and Nordic skiing seasons with the opening of several Olympic Regional Development Authority-operated ski venues. The venues - which include Gore Mountain in North Creek, Belleayre Mount in Highmount, Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, and Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid - will open this month following investments in upgrades, renovations, and snowmaking infrastructure ahead of the winter season. In addition to supporting New York's $16 billion winter tourism industry, these improvements will support the upcoming Lake Placid 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, which will take place from January 12 to 22, 2023.

Transfer of Jurisdiction from DOT to DEC for Tupper Lake-to-Lake Placid Section

Progress Continues along Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor

The New York State Departments of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Transportation (DOT), in cooperation with the Office of General Services (OGS), today announced the completion of the transfer of jurisdiction for a 34-mile segment of the Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor. This portion of the future Adirondack Rail Trail between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid was transferred from DOT to DEC, marking the official start of the trail’s design and construction phase and the conversion of the railbed into a shared-use path for hikers, bikers, cross-country skiers, and snowmobile enthusiasts.

Ellicottville, NY – With an eye on the future, Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, NY is planning construction a 6-passenger chairlift starting in the summer of 2022, with completion of the lift in September 2023. The new lift will replace the Mardi Gras Express, a 4 passenger high speed lift built in 1996 that runs up through the heart of the resort. According to Holiday Valley’s President and General Manager, Dennis Eshbaugh, “The Holiday Valley lift system has been recognized by our guests as one of the best in the East. The Yodeler Quad Express lift built in 2021 raised the bar. The Mardi Gras 6-pack will give skiers and snowboarders an exciting new experience, with quicker access to the top of the mountain.”…
