With ski areas located across the state, nearly every major New York metro area is within 90 minutes of top-tier winter recreation. The distribution makes skiing and riding an important contributor to employment and quality of life for residents throughout the state.

LGBTQ+ Community Invited to Two-Day Event at Belleayre Mountain in The Catskills

Albany, N.Y. – A new event in 2024 will add wintertime wonder to the roster of activities available to LGBTQ+ residents and travelers in New York State. The Capital Region’s first-ever Pride Ski Weekend will be held January 20 – 21 at Belleayre Mountain, featuring two fabulous days of slope-side fun for the LGBTQ+ community.

Lake Placid, N.Y. – In the winter of 2018-2019, the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid successfully debuted Ski With Andrew, an exclusive opportunity for hotel guests to cruise the trails of nearby Whiteface Mountain with Andrew Weibrecht, Olympic silver and bronze medalist in Super G, and son of resort owners Ed and Lisa Weibrecht. Prices for SKI3 and Mt Van Hoevenberg Season Passes Remain the Same as Previous Year 

Lake Placid, N.Y. (March 7, 2023) - The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) announces that Season Passes will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8, 2023.  

The SKI3 Season Pass combines Gore Mountain, Belleayre Mountain, and Whiteface Mountain offering 7,300+ vertical feet of skiing and riding on eight peaks, 882 acres, 32 glades, and 250+ trails, and the Mt Van Hoevenberg Season Pass provides 55km of cross country ski trails.

Event features seventeen breweries from throughout upstate New York

Tupper Lake, NY (February 2, 2023) – The Town of Tupper Lake is hosting its annual BrewSki event on Saturday, February 25 from 12-4 p.m. at the Tupper Lake Golf Course.

BrewSki features 17 local and regional breweries that offer samples and the opportunity to learn about regionally produced beers and the breweries that produce them; while skiing, snowshoeing and riding along the trails. Event organizers also arrange fire pits at which to rest along the trail and fat tire bike rental from High Peaks Cyclery. The event culminates with an after party at Raquette River Brewing featuring live music with Mickey and Claire.
