Cuomo today kicked off the 2016-17 skiing and snowboarding season and announced that Whiteface Mountain will open on Thursday, November 24, and Gore and Belleayre Mountains will open on Friday, November 25. Every winter season, skiing and snowboarding at New York's 51 mountains attracts millions of visitors and generates $1 billion for the state's economy.

Albany, NY (November 30, 2015) - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that the I LOVE NEW YORK Winter Ski Bus will begin weekly trips from New York City to upstate ski areas on January 22. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the bus will offer downstate skiers and riders day trips to Hunter, Plattekill and Belleayre mountains. Additionally, I LOVE NEW YORK has partnered with popular outfitter REI to further spread the word about the outdoor adventures that the State has to offer.

Albany, N.Y. (April 10) -  I LOVE NY today announced it partnered with the Ski Areas of NY (SANY) to host a day of outdoor activities for Eagle Academy students in an effort to expand opportunities for young New Yorkers and broaden the reach of its tourism campaign.  On Saturday, April 4, 30 students from the Eagle Academy for Young Men, an all-boys college preparatory school with locations across New York City, took to the slopes of Hunter Mountain as the guests of New York State's Division of Tourism/ I LOVE NY. The students enjoyed skiing lessons, courtesy of Ski Areas of NY (SANY) and Hunter Mountain's expert ski instructor staff.

Holiday ValleyEllicottville, N.Y. - Springtime at Holiday Valley is the season for crazy events and fun for all. More than 11 feet of snow has already fallen this winter and that has been supplemented by excellent conditions for snowmaking and good, consistent cold temperatures. Soon the weather will be milder with sunshine likely and Holiday Valley has several events planned to entertain skiers, riders and spectators through the spring ski season right through - and beyond - closing day of April 5th.

HickoryWarrensburg, N.Y. - In celebration of being 100% open on a deep 28" base of all natural snow, Hickory Ski Center is offering a special $30 lift ticket rate this Sunday, March 1st to 2014-2015 season passholders from other ski resorts.

2014-2015 season passholders from any ski resort are invited to come experience Hickory. Skiers and snowboarders must simply present their valid season pass at the ticket window to receive the $30 all day lift ticket. To inject even more fun into the day, the resort will be keeping a tally of which resort has the most passholders visit Hickory on Sunday. At 2 pm, Hickory will announce the winning resort and each passholder present from the victorious resort will receive a voucher for one single day lift ticket good for the rest of the 2014-2015 season!

Winona Forest TourathonMannsville, N.Y. - It's been a long cold winter so far, but conditions are the best we have had in the last 10 years for this weekend's event! There's plenty happening in snow sports in Winona and a record number of people are taking part. Considered a premiere event in upstate NY, the 35th Winona Forest Tourathon, which takes place this Saturday, is an annual event but only one of many that are being held in Winona Forest this season.
