Orange County, N.Y. (May 11, 2017) – With its winding country roads, rugged hilly terrain and quaint neighborhoods, Orange County is a prime location for athletic competitions. Race season kicks off with the mild spring weather and sprints on through the crisp weekends of fall. These competitions are drawing athletes of all calibers from near and far.  

“Hike it, bike it, and run it,” said Orange County Tourism Director Susan Hawvermale. “Sports events choose Orange County for our challenging courses set within the backdrop of our stunning scenery.”

Auburn DoubledaysAuburn, N.Y. – The Auburn Doubledays are pleased to announce the on-sale ticket date for individual game tickets during the 2017 season, as the daily promotions planned at Falcon Park during the summer.

Individual game tickets will go on sale Wednesday, May 10, at 9 a.m. Tickets start at just $6 for general admission, with box seats priced at $9. In coordination with the on-sale date, the Doubledays would like to announce their daily promotion schedule for the upcoming season.

Orange County, N.Y. –  From seasoned golfers to those teeing off for the first time, anyone looking for a day on the links can find a course that’s right for them in Orange County this spring. Golfing is a great way to take in the picturesque Hudson Valley landscape while getting exercise.

“Lush greens and easy tee times attract golfers to Orange County all through the season,” said Orange County Tourism Director Susan Hawvermale. “Come feast on our greens and dine at our remarkable 19th hole restaurants.”

Tinman1Tupper Lake, N.Y. - It began in 1983 with 68 competitors, back when bikes her heavier, wetsuits were a rarity, and race buoys were repurposed milk jugs.

On Saturday, June 24, the Tinman will celebrate its 35th anniversary. The most noticeable change since the first race is the number of competitors. The Tinman is attracting more competitors to the start line who are looking for a hardcore race with a small town feel in a beautiful setting. To date, the number of those registered is up 30 percent over last year’s 500 entrants, compared with 390 entrants in 2015, and 375 in 2014…

Lake Placid, N.Y. - The 2016 edition of IRONMAN Lake Placid received high marks as a race host town, based on a survey of IRONMAN competitors from around the world.

IRONMAN officials recently announced Lake Placid took the top honor of best overall bike in the IRONMAN Athletes Choice Awards. Other accolades include 5th in overall satisfaction, 6th in best overall run, 3rd in best race venue experience, 8th in best host city experience, and 4th in will recommend to a friend.

August 19-25 event to expand guest options and grow economic impact 

Tupper  Lake,  NY  ( January  24,  2017) -  The Wildlife  Conservation  Society  (WCS)  and Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) announced an innovative new model for Cycle Adirondacks 2017 on Tuesday from The Wild Center in Tupper Lake.

Now in its third year, the August 19-25 fully supported road bicycling tour will feature three primary hub communities - Schroon Lake, Keene Valley and Saranac Lake - with two consecutive nights at each. The result is more ride distances and options than ever by providing guests the ability to choose to pedal as few as three days or as many as six during the weeklong event.

Bassmaster Elite Pro Mark Menendez

Niagara Falls, N.Y. (Jan. 10, 2017) - Bassmaster Elite Pro Mark Menendez of Paducah, Kentucky will join an impressive cast of speakers at the Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo to be held Jan. 20-22 at the Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls. Menendez, a regular on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail for 26 years, is slated to be a competitor in the Elite Series in 2017 once again.
