Auburn DoubledaysAuburn, N.Y. – The Auburn Doubledays are pleased to announce the on-sale ticket date for individual game tickets during the 2017 season, as the daily promotions planned at Falcon Park during the summer.

Individual game tickets will go on sale Wednesday, May 10, at 9 a.m. Tickets start at just $6 for general admission, with box seats priced at $9. In coordination with the on-sale date, the Doubledays would like to announce their daily promotion schedule for the upcoming season.

ROOST LOGOWilmington, N.Y. — Fly fishermen from across the country and Canada will head to Wilmington, New York May 19 and 20 for the annual Ausable Two-Fly Challenge competition.

It was founded 18 years ago by local anglers to celebrate the joy of the fishing, spirit of sportsmanship, and to help preserve a world-class fly fishery.  All of the money raised from the entrance fees goes to preserving the river for future anglers. The funds are donated to the Ausable River Association and various other causes. According to lead organizer Michelle Preston, about 100 anglers are expected to participate.

Caan Film FestivalMay 19–28, 2017

Astoria, N.Y. — For two glittering weekends at the end of May, the world turns its attention to the movie event of the year: TheCaan Film Festival at Museum of the Moving Image. In celebration of the Bronx-born, Sunnyside-raised, and Sanford Meisner-instructed actor, the film series revisits twelve of James Caan’s greatest performances, from May 19 through 28, with nearly all films presented in 35mm. The films feature performances for such great directors as Francis Ford Coppola, Howard Hawks, Michael Mann, Sam Peckinpah, Mark Rydell, Norman Jewison, Wes Anderson, and James Gray.

Hudson Valley Heritage FairPoughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Mid-Hudson Valley Path Through History workgroup will present the 3rd Annual Hudson Valley Heritage Fair on Sunday, May 6 from noon to 4 p.m. The event is free and offers the public the chance to discover heritage tourism destinations from throughout the Hudson Valley region. Over 20 organizations and attractions representing different eras of local history will have booths set up in the event hall at the Locust Grove Estate in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Military reenactors will be encamped outside and a food truck will provide refreshments.

In addition to the fair, visitors are able to tour the mansion and grounds at the Locust Grove Estate, once home to inventor and artist Samuel F.B. Morse, as well as browse through the estate’s gift shop. Admission is charged for tours of the mansion. The Locust Grove Estate is located at 2683 South Rd., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601.
