Cooperstown Summer Music FestivalCooperstown, N.Y. (June 15, 2021) – The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival returns for its 23rd season with five concerts in August and September, bringing live chamber music back to the Cooperstown area after a pandemic hiatus during the summer of 2020.

Attending a concert will carry new meaning this summer, after a year of social isolation prevented artists from connecting with audiences in the concert hall. Music lovers of all stripes should take note of CSMF’s exciting concert lineup, which promises to be one of the best ways to celebrate the return of the performing arts to the stage.

Hudson River Museum Quiltmaking ExhibitionsCelebrating Spectacular Quiltmaking, Contemporary Landscapes, and Celestial-Inspired Art 

Yonkers, NY (June 3, 2021)—Hudson River Museum announces four summer exhibitions that share the impact of quiltmaking, painting, and drawing. With a nod to the power of craftsmanship, visitors are welcomed to explore a selection of fine quilts from the American Folk Art Museum, along with notable textiles with significant community history from the HRM’s collection. The Museum will debut a compelling new series of celestial works by artist Richard Haas, as well as imaginative and colorful landscape paintings by California-based, Yonkers-born artist Jack Stuppin, which will transport visitors through mountains and vibrant vistas of our Hudson Valley this summer.

With guided Tours of the Lighthouse

Plattsburgh, N.Y. – The public is invited to visit the historic Bluff Point Lighthouse on Valcour Island each Sunday in July and August beginning July 4th.  Transportation to the Lighthouse is the responsibility of the individual. Guided tours of the lighthouse are provided, and visitors will receive the Valcour Island Heritage Trail Guide.  The Lighthouse will be open from 1pm to 3pm each Sunday. Tours are free, and donations are appreciated.

Jones Beach Limited to Air Show Ticket Holders Only for Friday, Saturday and Sunday

New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) will open 22 beaches, pools and spraygrounds across the state for swimming on Memorial Day weekend. State Park beaches, campgrounds and picnic areas will return to normal operating capacity this summer. Park visitors are reminded to practice social distancing, respect the rules, and do their part to keep parks and beaches open and safe for everyone.

Whiteface Club & ResortWith COVID still in consideration, iconic club to offer all services

Lake Placid, N.Y. – One year after the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Whiteface Club and Resort in Lake Placid is about to enter the 2021 spring and summer season with operations much closer to normal than in 2020. Last year, the sister property to the nearby AAA Four Diamond Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa, entered the great unknown as did all resort operators, with nary a single notion as to what was about to occur.
