The Fajita Grill will conduct a fundraiser to benefit Friends of Fort Ontario

Oswego, N.Y.  - The Fajita Grill will conduct a fundraiser to benefit Friends of Fort Ontario Tuesday, Jan. 24. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of sales, both eat-in and take-out, between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to Friends of Fort Ontario. 

Money raised during the Fajita Grill fundraiser will be used for programming, special events, and restoration projects at Fort Ontario State Historic Site in Oswego.

Jan. 27 Program Focuses on Art and Artists of the Fort Ontario Refugee Shelter

Oswego, N.Y. - A panel of historians will commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day Friday,  Jan. 27 with an illustrated program on the Art and Artists of the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter (1944-1946). The program will be presented by Rebecca Fisher, Fort Ontario Site Supervisor Paul Lear, and Frank Sorranno at 7 p.m. in the Frances Marion Brown Theatre in Oswego.

Canton, N.Y. - Wilson Bentley was a Vermont farmer who was so interested in the structure of snowflakes that he spent decades perfecting a microscope camera in order to photograph them. Learn more about "Snowflake" Bentley at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14th, 2017, at the Second Saturday Children's Program at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St., Canton. Kids will hear "Snowflake" Bentley's story, enjoy hot cocoa, and make a snowflake to bring home! This is another in the SLCHA's series of fun and free monthly educational programs for kids ages 4-10, and their parents or caregivers.

Canton Baseball TeamMassena, N.Y. - If you're a fan of baseball, you should make a point to visit the St. Lawrence County Historical Association's 15th annual Civil War reenactment at Robert Moses State Park in Massena bright and early on the morning of Saturday, July 30th! A game of rounders - a sport descended from the same ancestor as modern baseball - will be played at 10:30am in a moment of peace before the battle, followed by the roll call of local soldiers at 11am and a women's and children's frying pan toss at 11:30 (spectators are welcome to participate!).

Antique Boat MuseumClayton. N.Y. - The Antique Boat Museum (ABM), North America's premier freshwater nautical museum based in Clayton, NY, announced today the dates of its well-known traditional events to be held this coming season.

A complete listing of Museum events, educational courses, and other special activities will be announced at a later date. Registration for select events will open on March 1, 2016.

Hamburg, N.Y. - The Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center, 4968 Lake Shore Road Route 5, Hamburg, NY, will host the Great Shipwrecks of NY's Great Lakes Traveling Exhibit. The exhibit will be open from 10am to 4pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting October 30, 2015 and will run through January 2016.

In a special presentation on Thursday, October 29 at 7pm at the Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center, New York Sea Grant Recreation and Tourism Specialist and Great Lakes Research Consortium Associate Director Dave White will open the exhibit with a program on The Future of NY's Maritime History: Dive the Great Lake Seaway Trail, the NYS Underwater Blueway Trail, and the National Marine Sanctuary Program.
