The Adirondack Mountaineer and the High Peaks Limited transport passengers to Tupper Lake, from Utica and Thendara, encouraging visitors to discover Tupper Lake’s attractions, restaurants, shops and activities. The Tupper Lake Explorer provides a round trip journey from Tupper Lake to Sabattis.

The Project Will Highlight Regional Historic Sites to Expand Awareness and Tourism during the 250^th Commemorative Years, 2024-2027

Ticonderoga, N.Y. - Fort Ticonderoga has announced the creation of the 250^th Northern Department, as part of its plans for the national 250^th commemoration of the American War for Independence. Scenic Rail Experiences Encourage A Self-Guided Discovery of Tupper Lake and Surrounding Areas

Kinderhook, NY (June 15, 2023) – The Columbia County Historical Society announced today a grant award totaling $10,000 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), part of a record capital project funding announcement by NYSCA, which totals over $42 million to 144 capital projects across New York State.

New York State's Investment in the Olympic Authority Supports $16 Billion NYS Winter Tourism Industry

Lake Placid, N.Y. (June 16, 2023) – Tourism Economics, a research firm focused on economic impact, forecasting, and market analysis of tourism-based destinations worldwide, has released its "Economic Impact Analysis for the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority" for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. The analysis found that the Olympic Regional Development Authority’s (Olympic Authority) local operational spending and revenues as well as the State’s investment yielded a direct economic impact of $341.8 million. In addition, the Olympic Authority operations supported 3,414 jobs and generated $25 million in state and local tax revenues.

Lake Placid, NY (June 16, 2023) – The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) has released results of its recent sustainability survey, developed to assess the importance of social, economic and environmental initiatives undertaken within the Adirondack region to travelers. ROOST also shared the results of its annual leisure travel study, undertaken during the same time period, which uncovers visitor demographics and information about their travel expenditures while in the region.
