Celebrate New York's Quadricentennial!

White Plains, NY - Say good-bye to winter and hello to spring and summer!  Now is the time to plan your vacation getaway! Located minutes north of New York City, Westchester is the perfect all-season destination.  And there is no better source for your travel plans than the 2009-10 Westchester Way Travel Guide. "Each year, 150,000 copies of the Travel Guide are printed to provide comprehensive travel information for New York's ‘Golden Apple', gateway to the Hudson Valley and referred to as New York City's 6th borough," said Kim Sinistore, Director, Westchester County Office of Tourism, "Get your guide today and plan your visit to Westchester - a great place to play!" 2009 marks the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's historic voyage up the river that bears his name. Cities and villages along Westchester's Hudson River from Yonkers to Peekskill are celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime commemoration! The 2009-10 Westchester Way Travel Guide has a "Quadricentennial" section that lists all of Westchester's Quad events.       The 52-page, magazine-style travel publication, produced by the Westchester County Office of Tourism in cooperation with Suburban Publishing, contains detailed information about the county's accommodations, attractions, historical sites, gardens, performing arts centers, parks and recreational opportunities, shopping, dining/nightlife as well as "Family Fun".  There is a special "Warm Up To Winter" section highlighting things to do during those gray winter days. It also contains information on movie locations, "Agritourism" (farms, orchards and wineries) and transportation options into and around the county.  The Westchester County Travel Guide is available to the public free of charge, and can be downloaded or requested by visiting http://www.westchestertourism.com/ or calling the Westchester County Office of Tourism at (800) 833-9282/ (914) 995-8500.
