Guests are invited to enjoy the beautiful autumn season on Saturdays and Sundays, now through Columbus Day Weekend. Gore offers several different hiking routes, and the views of the High Peaks and Southern Adirondacks offer a variety of excellent photo opportunties. Operating hours are 10am-4pm, and visitors can plan to spend either 30 minutes or the entire day exploring the mountain. Mountain biking camps on both September 12 and September 26 will offer ages 10+ of all biking abilities the opportunity to start the sport, or improve skills. Just $59 includes a full-day lift ticket, lunch, coaching from our experienced biking guides, and an organized hike. Work progresses quickly on several improvements for the upcoming 2009/2010 skiing and snowboarding season! Several of these projects will improve Gore's newest area of terrain on Burnt Ridge Mountain, including the addition of snowmaking on the "Sagamore" trail, which is a most difficult rated run descending over 1400' vertical. Other Burnt Ridge updates include the opening of the intermediate "Eagle's Nest" trail, which will connect the base of the North Quad to the base of the Burnt Ridge Quad via the Pipeline Trail. The massive "Cirque Glades" will become even larger due to an extension to the base of the quad, and guests can also look for a small access route to the "Cedars" trail from "Twister." Major undertakings at the North Creek Ski Bowl include this season's opening of the all-new Ski Bowl Lodge, which will feature modernized ticketing, updated foodservice, new bathrooms, and improved seating. Trail work towards Gore Mountain's interconnect with the Ski Bowl continues, and the terrain and new lift for the area are scheduled to open for the 2010/2011 season. Guests visiting this fall can see first-hand significant Base Lodge renovations, which include a new retail shop, improved ticketing, and a new sundeck adjacent to the Tannery Pub & Restaurant. 30 more tower guns for snowmaking in addition to the new "Sagamore" capabilities, a new terrain park moved to a widened "Wild Air", and a new grooming machine round out a very busy summer of preparations for the approaching winter. Mark your calendar for the Gore Mountain Harvest Festival on October 10-11, featuring live entertainment from the Ernie Williams Band and Raisinhead, a fantastic array of Adirondack vendors, kids activities, fall food and drink, and much more.
