The award, which recognizes the employee who most embodies service and operational excellence across the 166-property hotel chain, is one of the highest honors in the hotel system.  Credited with demonstrating strong leadership and creativity during the current challenging economy, Douglas has been responsible for day-to-day operations and management of the hotel's staff since 2007. "It's a great honor to be selected from so many terrific general managers who are the best in class in our industry," said Douglas, whose hotel is part of the Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, which has 7,000 hotels in 66 countries. "This award also recognizes the hard work that the rest of our management team and staff do on a daily basis." "Tressa is one of the most quality and customer service-oriented people I have ever worked with in my 17 years in the hospitality industry," maintained Jason Sherry, president, Sherry Management, LLC, the Wingate Lake George's management company. "She understands the dynamics of requiring A+ service of her managers and staff while still taking into consideration the limitations of budget and the potential of staff burn out." Among her Douglas' accomplishments, The Wingate by Wyndham Lake George has consistently maintained top scores in guest satisfaction and quality ratings for 22 months running. The hotel has also kept all but one of its management team and most of its original housekeeping and front desk staff. Before joining the property as assistant general manager in 2007, Douglas, who has more than 12 years of hospitality experience, spent four years as the front office manager at the Hilton Garden Inn-Saratoga Springs, where she managed the hotel's daily operations.  She began her hospitality career at Lake George's Georgian Luxury Resort and Conference Center. A graduate of Lake George High School, Douglas is active in community events and regularly attends events from the various chambers of commerce and organizations that represent the region.  The 96-room Wingate by Wyndham Lake George offers single and double rooms as well as suite accommodations. Rooms feature 32-inch flat-screen televisions, complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, in-room microwave and refrigerator and upgraded bedding with pillow-top mattresses. Property features include state-of-the-art business and fitness center, indoor & outdoor pools, indoor whirlpool and 1500 square feet of meeting space, and Wingate's signature board room.
