Lake George, N.Y. -
80+ motor coaches with tourists from throughout North American will visit the Lake George Area from May 22-25, 2010. The pre-planned tours, including a public concert at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and an additional to-be-announced venue, have been developed by Tour Operator, Pathway Tours in London Ontario.
"We brought the Shake on the Lake Tour to the area in 2004 and 2005 and will continue to bring it to the Lake George Area because it seems to be a perfect fit for our groups. There's always plenty to see and do and we expect there will be lots of time to wander through the communities during a lovely time of year," stated Bob Van Kleek, President of Pathway Tours.
The highlight of the tours will be a concert by Irish Tenor, Daniel O'Donnell and Mary Duff at SPAC on May 24th.
And an additional performance by Comedian Charlie Prose is planned for May 23rd
at a to-be-determined location.
According to the American Bus Association, each overnight motor coach tour injects $12,000 into the local economy. Based on the number of tours booked the total impact of these tours to the area will be $960,000.
The groups, which number over 4,000 participants, will be staying at 10 Lake
George/Glens Falls Area hotels and also will enjoy luncheon and dinner cruises on the lake, sightseeing on Prospect Mountain Memorial Highway and shopping at area outlets and malls.
The performances are also open to the general public. Advance tickets may be purchased through Pathways Tours at 1-800-265-7900.
