More donations to local food banks, more goodies to win with donations - a win-win for everyone thanks to the "Epicurean Experience Giveaway" Seneca Falls, N.Y. - With funding cut and area food banks in desperate straits this year, the Finger Lakes Cork & Fork, taking place Sept. 16-17 at Rodman Lott & Son Farms in Seneca Falls will be doing double duty to help get them stocked for the upcoming fall and winter season. Attendees to both day's events are encouraged to bring as many non-perishable food items as they want to donate to the area food banks, as each item equals an entry into the Epicurean Experience Giveaway. This giveaway prize package includes overnight accommodations at Barristers Bed & Breakfast in Seneca Falls and Finger Lakes Mill Creek Cabins in Lodi, in the heart of the wineries that line Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. There will also be a host of Finger Lakes foods and wines, and restaurant gift certificates, as well as tickets to 2012's Cork & Fork event! There will also be a number of other food & wine related items as well. And gourmet cooks will love the other items in the giveaway. A full set of Calphalon Cookware donated by Chef's Outlet at Waterloo Premium Outlets along with a surprise kitchen item from MacKenzie Childs! Friday night's donations for the Giveaway, along with a portion of the proceeds, will go to the Southern Tier Food Bank, in honor of Chef Deb Whiting of Red Newt Cellar Winery & Bistro in Hector. The "Partners & Pairings" VIP event is dedicated to the memory and mission of Chef Deb, who was taken from us too soon this past summer. As part of her tribute, the Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty, an organization supporting and nurturing the local farms, restaurants and producers which Chef Deb helped to found, will be holding a Silent Auction where Friday's guests can bid on a selection of Finger Lakes items. Saturday's donations will go to the House of Concern, located in Seneca Falls, at the North end of the Finger Lakes. But if people forget their non-perishable food items, each dollar donation will also gain them entry into the Giveaway as well. The winner will be announced at the end of the day on Saturday, September 17th. Friday's VIP tickets are available in advance only and limited to 250 attendees. A VIP ticket will also admit the ticketholder to Saturday's Main Event. Saturday only tickets are available in advance or at the door. And tickets to Wine Water & All that Jazz, the Seneca Falls Rotary's annual Jazz Fest, held Sunday September 18 at Goose Watch can be added on to your purchase when you buy your Cork & Fork tickets online. The Friday VIP Event - "Partners and Pairings" runs from 6:30-9:30pm, and features 16 top Finger Lakes chefs and culinary experts, each creating a tapas using local ingredients and paired with a Finger Lakes wine or beverage. Live jazz will be provided by the Cool Club of Hector. The Saturday Main Event is a Regional Showcase and Sales Event.
