Rigoletto is set in the renaissance splendor of Mantua,  precisely in the settings that Verdi chose and worked so stubbornly to bring off,  and its three acts will feature magnificent palaces and historical locations across the city. The opera tells the story of the court jester Rigoletto and his beautiful daughter Gilda - it's a tale full of love, intrigue and passion and it's filled with some of Verdi's most famous melodies. Each month, The Paramount will present a diverse menu of film programming, including their  popular Visiting Film Maker Series. In the coming months, the Paramount  will present opera from  the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Royal Opera House in London, taped performances from Russia's Mariinsky Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, the Paris Opera Ballet, and the ballet company of the Royal Opera House,   and Shakespeare plays from the Globe Theatre in London through the Emerging Pictures network.
