Blue Mountain Lake, N.Y. - David M. Kahn, Executive Director of the Adirondack Museum has announced today that the museum has received grants from the following foundations: the International Paper Foundation and the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation. The Adirondack Museum has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,000 from the International Paper Foundation. The funds will be used to help purchase educational materials and supplies for the Adirondack Museum's school program. From its inception in 1952 and continuing today, the International Paper Foundation supports non-profit organizations within the communities where International Paper has operating facilities. The Foundation's primary focus areas are environmental education and literacy programs for young children. The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation's gift of $2,000 will provide support for the museum's Cabin Fever Sunday presentations, held during the winter and spring throughout the Adirondacks. The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for year-round residents of the Adirondack Park: http://www.pearsallfoundation.org/ <http://www.pearsallfoundation.org/>. The focus of the Foundation is the support of arts programs, libraries, historical associations, environmental and health programs within the Adirondack Park. The Adirondack Museum, accredited by the American Association of Museums, shares the history and culture of the Adirondack region in 22 exhibits on a 32-acre campus in the Central Adirondacks.
