The excitement and love of Finger Lakes foods is spreading throughout the region as locavore food lovers have been nominating their favorite local foods and beverages for the Finger Lakes Foodie Awards. Nominations opened in early September and over 100 different foods and beverages have been nominated in categories like; Best Locally-Sourced Side Dish, Best Red Wine, Best Local Cheese - to name a few. Nominations can also be made at the following events: Debra Whiting Harvest Celebration, Watkins Glen - Oct. 11 Bristol Mountain Fall Festival, Canandaigua - Oct. 14 Finger Lakes Restaurant Week - Oct. 22-29 The Food Revolution has three phases, culminating in the Finger Lakes Foodie Awards. After the nominating phase closes, the Judging phase will begin. The top nominees in each category will be judged by a panel of local and national culinary experts and critics, as well as amateur foodies to determine the winners. The final phase will take place in late winter when Finger Lakes Visitors Connection will host the Finger Lakes Foodie Awards, an Oscar-style awards show to recognize the winners in each category.
