Swain, N.Y. - Swain Resort's ski lift is scheduled to operate Saturday and Sunday, June 16-17, from 10am-6pm offering Lift-Accessed Mountain Biking and Scenic Lift Rides. On Father's Day, June 17, dads are invited to enjoy a free scenic lift ride or $5 off a mountain biking lift ticket. For the third consecutive summer, the ski lift will carry mountain bikes and their riders to the top of the mountain to access the slopes and wooded trails on Swain's 265 acres. Trails range from easy to extremely difficult, incorporating various wooden terrain features, known as North Shore. "We have been adding a variety of new trails each year" commented owner Shawn Schoonover, "and as construction continues in the ski-in-ski-out housing development on the west side and it begins to take shape, the mountain biking trail system also grows and becomes more dynamic." Scenic lift rides, for those who simply wish to ride the lift, are available during the posted mountain biking schedule, while The Shawmut Grille, Swain's slope side restaurant also opens its doors. Swain Resort will be a host venue for the prestigious downhill mountain bike race series, Gravity East, on August 25-26. Riders from all over the east coast are expected to participate. 2012 Lift-Accessed Mountain Biking & Scenic Lift Ride Schedule: June 16-17, July 21, August 4, August 24 (3pm-7pm), August 25-26, September 8, October 6-7, October 13-14.
