spac-2012.JPGSun, May 20 @ 10:30 a.m. First Event of SPAC Season Features Performances along Route by Top Regional Bands Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Saratoga Performing Arts Center's "Rock & Run" 5K, the first event of the 2012 Season, will take place on Sunday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. Kick-off for the 5K is at SPAC's concession area. The family-friendly event features a certified 5K course through the Spa State Park with bands performing live music along the route, a 1K Kids' Run and a free post-race party on SPAC's lawn that is open to the community. Proceeds from the event help underwrite SPAC's Vivienne Anderson Program, an initiative which provides underserved children with the opportunity to attend classical performances. The schedule of events 10:00 A.M. -- 1K Kids' Run with "finisher awards" for each child 10:30 A.M. -- 5K through the Spa State Park with live music by top bands including Headband Jack, Black Mountain Symphony and Jenson Rhodes Band.   10:45 A.M. -- 1:00 P.M. -- Post-race party on the lawn featuring live music by NYC-based My Pet Dragon, kids activities, fitness demonstrations, and a variety of popular food vendors   Find more details at spac.org.
