Musical theatre from On, Off and Beyond Broadway: The new Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, produced by the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn, N.Y., is a summer-long festival featuring nine full scale professional productions plus 20 new musicals. The festival will offer productions at three different venues including Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Auburn Public Theater and Theater Mack at the Cayuga Museum. Performances include "Kiss Me, Kate," "Altar Boyz," "9 to 5: The Musical," and "The Pitch," the Festival's new play development series where playwrites and composers "pitch" their ideas in front of a live audience. Scenic, fun and full-service concierge tours are available, helping groups of all sizes easily navigate the wineries. Many area Inn's and Bed & Breakfasts in the Finger Lakes such as the Aurora Inn and E.B. Morgan House offer Wine Country Getaway packages. These include a one-night stay, private 6-hour wine tours, a picnic lunch and dinner after a full day of tasting.         Annual shopping events: An annual favorite for collectors, the MacKenzie-Childs Barn Sale, typically held in July at the company's Aurora, N.Y. headquarters, features high-quality seconds and discontinued items.
