Terry Brennan and Dan Testa, singers from the indie-rock group BELT, a favorite of the Brooklyn underground sceneUtica, N.Y. - The Adirondack Scenic Railroad will be hosting a celebration of all things Brooklyn on Friday, July 13th, from 6:00pm-9:00pm.  The Railroad hosts a Beer and Wine Tasting train ride on Fridays throughout the summer, traveling roundtrip from Utica to Remsen, NY.  The July 13th train ride will feature a beer tasting from the Brooklyn Brewery and live music from Terry Brennan and Dan Testa, singers from the indie-rock group BELT, a favorite of the Brooklyn underground scene. In keeping with the Brooklyn theme, local artists Tony Thompson (TonyThompsonArt.com) and Tim Rand (TRandArt.com) have painted a graffiti-style mural on a former baggage car which has been re-fabbed into a bar car, housing separate bars for serving local beer and wine. BELT was formed over ten years ago by its founding member and lead vocalist, Terry Brennan.  Originally from South Portland, Maine, Terry is a published author, an award-winning playwright, a vocalist in five active musical groups and a seasoned musician on the NYC scene.  Dan, originally from New Jersey, joined BELT in the summer of 2010.  Dan has a degree in musical theatre from Wagner College and has worked on multiple musicals and several song-writing and singing projects during his tenure in NYC.  BELT gained popularity through their eclectic style influenced by folk, reggae, punk, pop and everything in between.  Dan and Terry's stop in Utica is a special highlight in a summer of shows throughout New York and New England, including a full-band gig in Corning, New York on August 18th.  Tickets are available for purchase at http://www.adirondackrr.com/, under "Tickets," "Beer & Wine Tasting Train."  Tickets include a seat on the train, a sampling of Brooklyn Brewery beer, light snacks and live entertainment.  New this year is the first class car, where all passengers have table seating, and in addition to the beer tasting enjoy table service and gourmet snacks.  First class tickets are $40; Coach tickets (which do not include table seating) are $25.  Designated Drivers receive a $10 discount, and receive complimentary snacks and free samples of Stewarts soda.  Must be 21 years or older to ride.
