Hosted by the USA Track & Field Adirondack Association, the national showcase will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Empire State Plaza and features America's best race walkers, some of whom average seven-minute miles. A free SportWalk Clinic will be held at 11:30 a.m. on the Concourse and participants are encouraged to try their new sport walking technique at the 3K Community Walk course at 12 p.m. on Madison Ave.  "I am thrilled to have been awarded the USA 5K Race Walk Championships for the next three years as part of the Freihofer's Run for Women event schedule," said USA 5K Race Walk Director and USA Track & Field Adirondack President Don Lawrence.  "The very best race walkers in the nation will be on the Empire State Plaza one kilometer loop to race 3.11 miles for a $3,000 prize purse.
