ArtsWestchesterArtsWestchester presents a stylish evening of culinary tastings and indulgences, two gallery previews, live music and open artist studios

White Plains, N.Y. - If art is food for the soul, then ArtsWestchester's ArtsBash promises to satisfy the visual, spiritual and culinary appetites of all who attend. Now in its 15th year, ArtsBash has become a highly anticipated evening, a stylish affair that allows art lovers and foodies alike to access the organization's nine-story historic building and wander through its open studios and galleries. Guests will enjoy a feast for the senses as they sample the culinary masterpieces of local restaurants, enjoy cocktails and listen to live music, all while wandering through two exhibitions and 17 open studios, spanning 7 floors of ArtsWestchester's historic downtown building. ArtsBash will take place on Friday, May 16 , from 6-9pm, and will be held at the Arts Exchange, 31 Mamaroneck Avenue, in White Plains. Tickets are $75. All sales will support the programs and services provided by ArtsWestchester.  To purchase tickets and for more information about ArtsBash, please contact Ann Fabrizio at (914) 428-4220 x326 or visit artsw.org/artsbash.

FOOD
Signature dishes from the county's most revered restaurants will be featured at this year's ArtsBash, where the food is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. More than 20 restaurants will join culinary Co-Chairs John Crabtree (Crabtree's Kittle House and Riverhouse) and Anthony Goncalves (42 The Restaurant) in presenting a variety of tastings. A list of participating restaurants can be seen below.

FUN
Against the backdrop of food and art, guests will enjoy live music, cocktails, fine wines courtesy of Pernod Ricard, and the company of fellow art lovers. In addition, guests will have the chance to win prizes at the silent auction and "wine pull."

FABULOUS ART
Fabulous art isn't just a backdrop at this year's ArtsBash - it will be an interactive environment that guests can explore. The event will mark the preview of ArtsWestchester's new exhibition, STEAM. From an installation that converts Peckham Gallery's stairway into a participant activated piano, to a bicycle-operated installation, STEAM features the work of 31 contemporary artists who have created original, engaging, and visually striking artworks in dialogue with STEM - science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Each piece in the exhibition focuses on the integration of art and technology, and the innovation that occurs when the two intersect and inspire one another. This exhibition is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Westchester Community College Center for the Digital Arts, Peekskill Extension, and is sponsored by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

A list of exhibiting STEAM artists can be seen below.

In addition to the main exhibition in its Peckham and Shenkman Galleries, ArtsWestchester's studio artists will open their doors to allow guests to wander through room after room of art, meet the artists and interact with them.

The ninth floor galleries of ArtsWestchester's historic building will also be accessible to the public for the opening of another exciting exhibition. The Katonah Museum Artists' Association (KMAA) is pleased to announce UNABASHEDLY, juried by Bartholomew Bland, Director of Curatorial Affairs, Hudson River Museum. The exhibition celebrates the spontaneity that is central to an artist's vision, and depicts a diverse interpretation of freewheeling creativity.

This year's ArtsBash 2014 will be followed by Family ArtsBash on Saturday, May 17, an affordable day of fun for the whole family that includes children's workshops, activities, treats and prizes. For more information about Family ArtsBash, visit artsw.org/familyartsbash.
