North Creek, N.Y. - Gore Mountain is hosting events throughout the fall foliage season, and this weekend features the 4th Annual Photography Camp with Carl Heilman on Saturday and the Leaf Cruncher 5k Run/Walk on Sunday.

Carl Heilman II is an award winning outdoor photographer who specializes in nature panoramas, murals, and nature photography of Lake George, Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks, New York State, and Montana.

The comprehensive one-day Gore Mountain Photography Camp, for beginner to intermediate photographers, features instruction on many facets of photography including camera basics, photography principles, digital camera features and
menus, lenses, RAW files, exposure, HDR, depth of field, motion, composition, lighting, various creative photo techniques, and a short section on post processing. The class begins with and builds on the most basic camera principles to help gain complete control over every shot. Participants will
learn how to shoot various types of nature photography while exploring fall foliage techniques, landscapes, wildflowers, moving water, and more.

The eight-hour day features five to six hours of instruction, including time for working with camera techniques and a question and answer period. The $95 class includes lunch, scenic gondola ride, and instruction.

The Leaf Cruncher 5k is back with an all-new, easier course layout combining rolling cross-country trails and flat base area terrain with a few wooded steeper spots. Treasure hunt for prizes on-course, as well as be "in the running" for great raffles following. This fun and family-oriented welcomes runners and walkers of all ages.

photography camp is limited to 20 participants and is in session Saturday from 9:30am to 5:30pm. The 5k is $30, and registration and bib pick-up is in the Base Lodge from 10 a.m.-noon on Sunday, with a 1pm start.

Two events on Saturday, September 27 include an Advanced Downhill Mountain Bike Camp as well as a a "Bon Appetite!" French cooking class. On Saturday, Oct. 4, Gore introduces an all-new Adirondack Pack Basket Workshop, and on October 11-12 will welcome thousands of guests to its annual Harvest Fest.
