one-lord-rings-1000.jpgOne Man Star Wars Trilogy creator returns to Proctors with One Man Lord of the Rings. Schenectady, N.Y. -For 11 years, Charles Ross, Canada's self-described "professional geek," has traversed the globe with his compact, compressed and crazy One Man Star Wars Trilogy. Ross has delighted audiences with the unique, frenetic show, which tackles all the twists and turns of the first brace of Star Wars films in just over an hour. Now Ross does the same for Lord of the Rings, recreating the enchanting world of Middle-earth with nothing more than elbow pads and his own outrageous imagination. One Man Lord of the Rings is at the GE Theatre at Proctors, 432 State Street, Schenectady, 7:30 p.m. Friday; 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, January 24-26. Whether a fan of the original J.R.R. Tolkien tales or Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson's films, be prepared to journey with Ross through the trilogy-The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King-in 3,600 seconds of unbelievable kinetic entertainment! Booming special effects, riveting stage fights and harrowing rescues-the gifted Ross does it all in this engaging and epic one-man show. One Man to do it all. One Man to rule them all! Born in northern British Columbia, in a town closely resembling the Shire, young Charlie Ross spent his early years longing for galaxies far, far away. It was the discovery of a passion for acting (and a move to more southerly climes) that brought this geek-at-heart back to earth. At university, Ross formed a friendship and collaborating partnership with actor/writer/director TJ Dawe. Dawe has directed four of Ross' solo shows, the first being the wildly successful One Man Star Wars Trilogy. After sold-out tours of North America's fringe theatre festivals and performing arts centers, One Man Star Wars and One Man Lord of the Rings have taken on a life of their own. Licensed by George Lucas and Saul Zaentz, and carrying the official banner of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, it's fair to say that Ross now dwells in geek heaven. With thousands of performances in hundreds of cities, across four continents; from off-Broadway to the Sydney Opera House; from London's West End to the sands of Dubai-these shows have been there. The worldwide love affair with Ross' trilogies is phenomenal. It's been a dream come true for Charles Ross to celebrate that love with the generations of fans around the world. ### One Man Lord of the Rings January 24-26 GE Theatre at Proctors 432 State Street, Schenectady $25 518.346.6204 proctors.org
