Brook Trout fingerlingsCornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. - Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, from 12 p.m.-4p.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will be hosting: Trout Weekend at the Museum's Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson.

"The Brook Trout is New York's official State fish. A native of New York, it is a small, attractive and feisty game fish,"

said Environmental Educator, Pam Golben."Brook Trout survive in only the coldest and cleanest waters and can serve as environmental indicators. A decline in wild brook trout populations may be an early warning that the health of the ecosystem is at risk." In celebration of this two day event, activities will include: Special "Meet the Brook Trout Hatchlings and Adults" at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Brookie feeding time at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visitors can use microscopes to view aquatic invertebrates from a local stream plus enjoy crafts and activities on both days.  Admission: $3, Members are free.
