Annual Catskills Irish Festival Features Music, Dancing & Workshops July 10-16, 2016

Greene County, N.Y. (May 10, 2016) - The Emerald Isle comes to the Great Northern Catskills every July for a week of non-stop Irish music, dancing, crafts and workshops,
transforming the host town into a living Irish village set amid the green, rolling hills of East Durham, NY.

Catskill Irish Arts Week, slated for July 10 - 16, 2016, at
the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre in East Durham welcomes the public to explore the world of Irish step and sword dancing, Ceilithe, and the singular sound of Irish musical instruments such as fiddle, uilleann pipes,
Bodhran, and tin whistle.

One of the best Celtic festivals in New York State, Catskills Irish Arts Week offers an immersive experience for anyone who loves Irish music, dancing, art, and exploring cultural traditions. World-class musicians, more than 70 arts and
cultural instructors from Ireland, Canada and the U.S. will take part in the week-long festival to offer exclusive workshops and classes, as well as nightly performances.

Highlights during the 21st annual Celtic celebration include:

Tír na nÓg Youth Program - Open to children agers 5-18, the program is open from 9:40 am - 3:30 pm throughout the week and features workshops in music, song, dance,
poetry, storytelling, Irish mythology, Irish language, and Celtic Art.

Workshops are tailored to each student's passions and strengths, offering a unique experience in Celtic culture and folklore. Children are place in age-related classrooms. Cost per student is $200 for the entire week.

2016 Ceilithes - Pronounced "kAI-lee," it means a traditional Gaelic social gathering - and this year's include musical performances by celebrated bands held nightly, as well as The Great Barn Dance, slated for July 13th from 7 - 9 pm. The dance features music by Irish and American
musicians, as well as traditional dances for the whole family.

East Durham Trad Fest- Held on the last day of Catskills Irish Arts Week, this all-day event features the best in traditional Irish Music with numerous performances by world-class masters. Local food vendors, craftsman, and music make this a can't-miss event.
