NYS Parks, Recreation, Historic Preservation Staatsburg, N.Y. (9/3/20) — “The Gathering of Old Cars,” the annual October car show at Staatsburgh State Historic Site, will not take place this year because of the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis. The show is slated to continue next year.

“We’ll miss seeing all the devoted fans of the Gathering,” said Staatsburgh’s Educator, Don Fraser, “It’s one of our most popular events, and a long-standing tradition at Staatsburgh. Our wonderful partner, the Red Hook Car Club, has been hosting the Gathering here for 33 years.”

Fraser noted that the dramatic setting of the car show adds to its appeal. Cars of every class and era are displayed before the 1895 Beaux Arts mansion, with autumn foliage and the Hudson River in the background. Car clubs from throughout the Hudson Valley attend the event.

“We hope to be back as big as ever next year,” Fraser said.
