Winter Festival Week Returns with $20 Tickets and Fun Family Events Highmount, N.Y. - Great news: $25 Wednesdays and $25 Customer Appreciation Fridays are back at Belleayre! These discount days will last all season long, non holiday periods. Winter is in full swing and the Belleayre event calendar is packed with fun family events. Belleayre Mountain will be kicking off its Annual Winter Festival week on January 21 with the Kids Winter Carnival from noon to 3pm in the Lower Discovery Lodge, followed by a kid's pizza party in the Garden Room of the Overlook Lodge then the torchlight parade at 5:45pm on Yahoo. The tradition of $20 lift tickets will continue this season, Monday the 23rd through Friday the 27th. Friday the 27th is an official Press Day at Belleayre Mountain. All press and media are invited to visit Belleayre Mountain for a complimentary day of skiing and riding for any level skiers and snowboarders that will include a luncheon as well as a mountain tour with Superintendent Tony Lanza and Don Boyce, the Director of Belleayre Mountain Ski School. Also on the 27th, Belleayre Mountain and Centerplate will host a good old fashioned country hoe down at the Red Barn Bar in the Discovery Lodge from 4 to 8pm. Admission is free, with live music by Country Express. There will be a $10 Chicken BBQ with all of the fixings as well as other BBQ favorites and drink specials at the Red Barn. Winter Festival week will conclude with Michael Balboni being honored at the 26th Snowball on Saturday, January 28 at the Overlook Lodge. The Guest of Honor, a former NY State Senator and Deputy Director for Public Affairs for New York State will be presented with this year's Spirit of the Catskills Award. The Snowball will feature music by Special Delivery with dinner catered by Main Course of New Paltz. This classic event usually sells out, so make reservations soon. Belleayre Mountain is stepping up to be the Catskills "main street" for the Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of January in the Overlook Lodge. Patrons will peruse a superb selection of locally handmade crafts from the Catskill region including jewelry, soaps, pottery, folk art, photography and more while enjoying the fun of skiing and snowboarding. The Guild's cooperative gallery is located on Main Street in Margaretville, NY. Nearby towns, villages and local businesses are still feeling the aftermath of Irene and Belleayre Mountain is stepping up as the area's largest economic catalyst by providing the Guild with a space to showcase some of the regions fine arts. Belleayre Mountain is a year-round outdoor recreation area in the Catskill Mountains operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
