Clayton, NY. – The 40th Annual Thousand Island Gun Show is set for Saturday and Sunday, August 19 and 20, 2017 at Cerow Recreation Park Arena in Clayton, NY.
Along with more than 60 vendors, the special featured exhibitor at the show will be the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation with information on its Young Forest Initiative, accessible recreation for people with disabilities, and education programs for hunters and trappers.
The DEC Young Forest Initiative seeks to provide habitat for small game and declining species on DEC Wildlife Management Areas. The Young Forest Initiative focuses on popular game species including American woodcock and ruffed grouse as well as other species such as New England cottontail and golden-winged warblers.

Among the sporting exhibitors at the 40th Annual Thousand Island Gun Show will be gunsmiths, guides, collectors and sellers with new, used, and antique firearms, sporting knives, black powder guns, military memorabilia, decoys, leather goods, guidebooks, and gear for hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
Dealers offer products that reflect American history through such brands as Remington, Winchester, and Browning. All federal, state, and local firearm ordinances apply and National Instant Criminal Background Check Systems checks are required for all firearm sales and purchases.
The Thousand Island Gun Show hours at Cerow Recreation Park Arena in Clayton are 8:30 am to 5 pm on Saturday, August 19, and 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday, August 20. The Thousand Island Gun Show is a Yellow Ribbon event for military personnel. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for military with ID; children under 12 enter free.
The first 100 visitors each day will receive a free copy of the New York Outdoor News courtesy of Turner Outdoors, LLC, Groton, NY.
