Pleasantville, N.Y. (Dec. 6, 2016) - The Art Gallery at The Rockefeller Park Preserve will present "A Spiritual Quest," an exhibition of luminous, colorful landscape paintings created by Larry Horowitz. Horowitz joyously commingles "en plein aire" subjects in formal compositional effects, yielding to spiritual perceptions and momentarily romantic ones. Premiering on Sunday, Dec. 11 with a celebration from 1 to 3 p.m., the exhibit will be on view daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Jan. 29, 2017.

Larry Horowitz grew up on Long Island and has become known as a "painterly realist," joining others such as Fairfield Porter, Nell Blaine and Albert Pinkham Ryder, who seek the essence of the landscape, not the actuality. Horowitz travels far and wide in pursuit of beauty, from New York State to Mid-Western landscapes to the Pacific coastline of California. His art has been featured in museums and galleries domestically and internationally, as well as in many private collections.

The exhibition is curated by Audrey Leeds.
