African American Veterans MonumentBuffalo, NY (August 14, 2023) – The African American Veterans Monument Inc. is offering a 'bucket list' opportunity for five fortunate individuals to relive history by taking flight in a P-51C 'Red Tail' Mustang – the iconic aircraft flown by the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.

The auction is the first of the activities happening in Buffalo! The CAF RISE ABOVE Red Tail Squadron Traveling Exhibit and the P-51C Mustang will be in Buffalo and Cheektowaga from August 30, 2023 to September 23, 2023. Flight bids start at $3,000, and the auction will close on August 28, 2023.

To bid on a flight, go to https://app.charityauctionstoday.com/auctions/The-AAVM-Tuskegee-P-51C-Mustang-Flights-37748 or scan the QR code below.

Along with the P-51C Mustang will be the CAF RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit. The Red Tail exhibit features a theater showing a compelling original film about the airmen: the excellence with which they performed defending our county while also fighting a “second war”— a fight against systemic racism and discrimination before, during, and after World War II. The Tuskegee Airmen also laid the groundwork for the foundation of the Civil Rights Movement of the1960s. They changed the world, and if we keep their story alive, they will continue to do so.

The flights will take off from Signature Flight Support BUF located next to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, 50 N. Airport Road, Cheektowaga, New York. Flights will be scheduled between August 30-31 and September 22-23, 2023.
