Rochester, N.Y. - Here's a chance to share your treasured memories about play, win fabulous prizes, and contribute to a major new exhibit at the National Museum of Play at The Strong®. The museum invites you to submit a two-minute video showcasing your fondest memories of playing with friends to the America at Play: Play Stories Video Contest beginning March 1. Says Christopher Bensch, vice president for collections at The Strong, "Your collected video stories will become part of the museum's permanent archive of play histories. Contestants will help contribute to the development of America at Play, an exhibit that will be installed on the museum's second floor beginning in 2012. Selected videos may be used in the exhibit itself." Here's how to enter the contest: Visit http://www.museumofplay.org/video-project to read contest eligibility requirements and create an account. Upload or record your video entry. Create a video to upload or record a video on the site via webcam (no more than two minutes long) that captures fond memories of playing with friends either in the past or the present. You may wish to reminisce on camera about a playful experience or provide footage of yourself as a child. Interviews with others are also acceptable. Your submission may include additional images, videos, props, or other original materials. Entries must be received by midnight, March 31, 2011. Vote for your favorite videos, comment on entries, and share videos on Facebook and Twitter. Three winners will be selected on the basis of online votes and a fourth, special Curators' Choice prize determined by a panel of National Museum of Play experts, will also be awarded.
