Clayton, New York (June 14, 2023) – The Antique Boat Museum (ABM), North America’s premier freshwater boating museum based in Clayton, New York, is proud to present the annual Antique Boat Museum Auction on Saturday, August 4th at 1pm with Robert Ross of Ross Bros as Auctioneer. The auction features a variety of boats and boating objects from fiberglass to wood, turnkey to projects. The auction will take place on the Museum’s campus at 750 Mary St in Clayton, New York. The public will have the opportunity to view the auction items before the auction on Friday, August 4th from 9-5pm. Special viewing arrangements may be made by contacting ABM’s Curator/Collections Manager Matt Macvittie at mattmacvittie@abm.org. Items will not be available for in-person viewing until July 31st. All auction items are either donated to the ABM free and clear for the benefit of the Museum or consigned by a third party with the ABM taking a modest percentage of the overall sale price as part of this annual fundraising event. Donations and consignments are still being accepted for the auction. Ross Bros was conceived in 1982 by brothers Hank and Robert Ross. Located in Massachusetts, Ross Bros currently sells a general line of antiques, but specializes in antique wooden boats and canoes, along with an extensive line of antique and reproduction boat hardware. Ross Bros boasts a national reputation as small craft experts with sales and distribution throughout the United States, Canada, and international sales to Netherlands, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, and South America. Customers include private individuals, collectors, retail, wholesale, bars, restaurants, museums, and many retailers. In 2005, Hank left the business to concentrate on real estate sales. Robert has continued with Ross Bros and marked 41 years in April 2023. Thank you Robert for donating your time for this fundraising auction.
