Belleayre slopes are still in great shape as the mountain gets ready to head into spring this weekend. March is the month for special events at Belleayre including the Pine Hill Arms Triathlon, a tailgate cookout competition with a season passes on the line for the winner, the Cardboard Classic, the Dummy Race, Reggae-fest weekend and much more. Between runs there is nothing like relaxing with friends on the deck of Overlook Lounge with DJ Heat providing the tunes as the tasty smell of BBQ fills the air. Attention all multi-sport endurance athletes. The Pine Hill Arms Triathlon is back again this Saturday, March 20. This classic event begins with a two mile ski leg from the Belleayre Mountain summit to the base, continues with a 10 mile bike ride and finishes with a grueling five mile run that ends at the Pine Hill Arms. Afterwards competitors are invited to dinner at the Pine Hill Arms that is included in the cost of the triathlon. Registration is $50 for pre-registration or $55 the day of the competition and all competitors must be registered by 11:30am in the Longhouse Lodge. Win a season pass at Belleayre Mountain's First Annual Tailgate Cookout Competition on Saturday, March 20th starting at 2pm. Competitors are invited to bring their best Tailgate party to the Overlook parking lot. Prizes will be awarded for Best Overall Tailgater (season pass for the 2010-2011), Best Food (4-pack of Lift Tickets for the 2010-2011 Season), and Best Presentation (4-pack of Lift Tickets for 2010-2011 Season). Vehicles will park in the reserved parking spaces at the Overlook Lodge. A pre-registration form is downloadable on the Belleayre website. Have you ever wanted to sled down Belleayre Mountain? The Cardboard Classic on Sunday March 21 is your chance. Everyone is welcome to make their own sled out of cardboard and duct tape, then race down the course set up behind the Longhouse Lodge. Make your sled at home and bring it with you, or come to the Longhouse Lodge between 9 am - noon to use materials Belleayre provides. (Please note there will be a limited supply.) Use your imagination to build the most stable and aerodynamic sled you can! Cost is free to enter. The race begins at 1 pm and helmets are required. It is Belleayre's mandate to keep skiing and riding affordable for our customers and late season rates are in effect through the end of this year. Belleayre has also added more Potter Brothers Flex Days to the calendar and the next Flex Day is this Sunday, March 28. Customers can purchase a voucher for $23.95 at any convenient Potter Brothers location and redeem it at Belleayre for a lift ticket. Add this to the $20/$10 Wednesdays Promotion and $25 Customer Appreciation Fridays and find out why Belleayre is the most affordable place to ride and ski. Belleayre wants to reach a goal of 10,000 skiers a week for the month of March. Customers can earn free lift tickets for skiing Belleayre in March with the 10-10-10-10 promotion. Help Belleayre reach the  goal of 500 people a day midweek, and 2500 people a day on the weekends, and the first 25 people to buy a full price lift ticket each day will get a free return lift ticket.
