Users are matched with FLX’s trailblazing women and introduced to historic landmarks to walk in their footsteps
Auburn, N.Y. – Brave Women FLX, a marketing campaign led by the northern counties of the Finger Lakes vacation region, is encouraging individuals to take the Which Brave Woman Are You? quiz, which matches users with one of the region’s female trailblazers who helped change the course of women’s and human rights history. After completing the quiz, users will receive a downloadable badge of their “kindred spirit,” as well as information on landmarks they can visit to walk in her footsteps. The Brave Women FLX campaign – which kicked off in January 2020 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment that granted women the right to vote – celebrates nine fierce women that once called the region home: Harriet Tubman, Frances Seward, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, Martha Coffin Wright, Jikonsaseh, Matilda Joslyn Gage, Susan B. Anthony, Emily Howland and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
The program encourages visitors and residents to honor the forward-thinking female pioneers of the Finger Lakes by exploring the landmarks and destinations that tell their stories. It also supports the region’s modern-day businesswomen and entrepreneurs that are blazing their own trails. Which Brave Woman Are You? quiz results will include information on women-owned restaurants and wineries, female brewers and entrepreneurs, and activities to complement their visit.
