Canandaigua, NY - Yesterday was a great start to the winter snow sports season at Bristol Mountain. The ski area was open from noon - 4 p.m. and had good crowds of skiers and snowboarders throughout the afternoon. Guests enjoyed skiing and riding on Eclipse, Sunbelt, Infinity, Shooting Star and Halley's Run. Snowsports enthusiasts enjoyed a quick ride up the mountain on the Comet Express High Speed Detachable Chairlift. When asked how she found out about Bristol Mountain's Opening Day Janet Bohs of Canandaigua, remarked, "I was watching the noon news and saw the announcement. I said to my husband, John, get off the treadmill we are going to Bristol Mountain to ski! We are so glad we came out today. The snow was great." Chris Ladelfa (18 years old) of Palmyra, said, "It was a great first day of riding!" Tuesday's hours of operation will be from 9am-4pm. Please check the Bristol Mountain/LeBrun Toyota Snow Phone at 585-374-1100 or http://www.bristolmountain.com/ for continuous updates. Live streaming video of the snow making can be viewed by going to http://www.bristolmountain.com/, click on webcams and then select the Rocketcam. Debbie Chociej, Bristol Mountain Systems Manager, suggests that if anyone is having difficulty viewing the webcam they might need to install a more current version of Windows Media Player, if they are PC users. Weather permitting the evening hours will go into effect on Friday, December 11th (9am-10pm for weekdays and 8am-10pm on weekends - December 11, 2009 - March 14, 2010). Please check the website or snow phone prior to coming out to Bristol Mountain.
