Greenville, N.Y. (March 13, 2016) - Sunny Hill Resort & Golf Course in Greenville, NY, an all-inclusive family resort in New York's Catskill Region, was named one of Parents Magazine's "10 Best All-Inclusive Travel Resorts," in the March 2016 issue, and a Travelers' Choice for Family Hotels in the U.S. by TripAdvisor.
Parents worked with TripAdvisor to find all-inclusive resorts in the U.S., the Caribbean, and Mexico rated highly by families for the travel feature. Sunny Hill Resort is one of two U.S.-based resorts included in the list.
"The secret is out," said owner Gary Nicholsen. "Now that our family-owned, all-inclusive slice of paradise is getting national attention, we're getting excited about showcasing the resort to a whole new audience."
TripAdvisor selects award winners for the Travelers' Choice Family Hotels using an algorithm that reviews the quantity and quality of reviews from travelers on TripAdvisor during a 12-month period with emphasis placed on reviews designated as family vacation.
Established nearly 100 years ago, Sunny Hill Resort has been the retreat of generations of families who visit the Catskills to spend time with one another and the Sunny Hill family. The family-owned and operated resort provides everything families need to have fun together, including on-site activities; three meals served family style, weekly lakeside parties celebrating America with a full patriotic tribute, lawn concerts, fireworks shows, and guided tours to nearby towns, attractions, and shopping centers.
Open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, Sunny Hill offers 12 distinct lodging options on property, and more than 110 rooms. The property, set on 600 acres, hosts a serene lake, breathtaking mountain views, volleyball and basketball courts, two 18-hole golf courses, a day spa, and the Viking Obstacle Course. Additionally, the resort owns a fleet of "Just for Fun Rides," including a road train, fire truck, military rides, and trolley for transporting guests around the grounds.
Activities at the resort vary by day, but include just-for adults happenings such as wine and cheese mixers, Zumba or yoga, fencing, and activities for children including monster truck rides, arts and crafts, face painting, golf clinics, Children's Day Camp, seven playgrounds, a rock climbing wall, as well as activities to enjoy as a family including dancing, karaoke, quiz games and talent shows, fishing, and family movies under the stars.
Themed weekends are offered in the spring and fall, including two weekends annually where kids stay free and free golf weekends with a steak and clam bake.
"We cultivate a hospitable environment, and have known families who brought their kids, and now bring their grandkids to Sunny Hill to experience our unique family resort," said Nicholsen. "We are so humbled and grateful that Sunny Hill has been the destination of choice for generations of who have become part of our family."
"In today's travel world, where you have fears about losing your luggage, concerns about Zika, or issues with keeping teenagers entertained, we pride ourselves on offering a close-to-home vacation destination that includes so much to do and experience that our guests can't do it all in one visit," Nicholsen added.
