The Great Northern Catskills' Holiday Events Appeal to All Ages

Greene County, N.Y. - Get into the Holiday Spirit in the Great Northern Catskills with events that honor traditions, spark new ones, and guarantee fun for the whole family.

Chilly Willy Winter's Eve Tours, November 12 and 13, at the Bronck Museum in Coxsackie, features costumed guides
who will take visitors through the restored and preserved Bronck House,

one of the oldest homesteads in New York, and explain ancient holiday traditions followed by Swedish and Dutch refreshments. Tours leave at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3

Tannersville Holiday Craft Fair November 26, kicks off the holiday season with a visit from Santa Claus, a tree lighting and a craft fair. Festivities start at 10 am on Main Street in

Scrooge & Son, A Catskill Christmas Carol, is a favorite Catskill holiday event, and will debut December 2 for a three night run at the Orpheum Theater in Tannersville. Dickens' timeless tale is turned upside-down to bring fresh life, dancing and music to a story of Christmas past, present and future. Curtains rise at 7 pm.

The Nutcracker Ballet, December 9-11, at the Orpheum Theater in Tannersville will delight all ages as the Valentina Kozlova Dance Conservatory based in New York City joins former Met Opera Ballet star Victoria Rinaldi to produce a masterpiece of performance art.

Matinee and evening shows are scheduled.

Athens Annual Victorian Stroll December 10 in downtown Athens is a free holiday event offering art performances, roving carolers, horse-drawn trolley rides, and live music performances throughout the village, ice sculpture carving, cookies and hot cocoa, wine tasting and so much more!
Festivities kick off at 1 pm.

A Holiday Gathering in Thomas Cole's New Studio on December 10 is sure to transport guests to the founder of the Hudson River School's heyday. Enjoy a cocktail reception at the studio, followed by a lavish holiday dinner at one of six magnificent private homes, including an 18th century stone house, or a sprawling home with views of the Hudson River. The cocktail reception starts at 5 pm.
