Chautauqua County, N.Y. - The Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Trail's Wine & Cheese Gourmet Weekend is taking place May 1 & 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., along the wine trail, which comprises 21 wineries between Silver Creek, New York, and Harborcreek, Pa.
Flavorful dishes infused with artisan cheeses and wines will be served during this popular annual gourmet event. From rich soups and elegant pastas to decadent desserts, chefs and winemakers are paying homage to locally produced food and wine.
For the first time the wine trail is partnering with Yancey's Fancy, maker of New York state's finest hand-crafted cheeses. In March, Yancey's Fancy won the "Best of Class" and a number of other top honors in the world's largest international competition for cheese.
Don't delay. Wine & Cheese Weekend is always a sellout. Order tickets online, http://www.chautauquawinetrail.org/, or call toll-free 1-877-326-6561.
The cost is $35 per person; $60 per couple includes tastings of food and wine at 19 participating wineries, a gourmet guide complete with recipes and wine pairings, a collectible wine glass, and a special gift. Sunday-only tickets are also available.
