bristol-mtn-11-25-13.jpgCanandaigua, N.Y. -  Skiing and Snowboard enthusiasts will be hitting the slopes at Bristol Mountain on Tuesday, November 26th from 9am-4pm.  There will be a 50th Anniversary ribbon cutting ceremony at the Comet Express chairlift prior to the 9am lift start.  Upper and Lower Rocket trails will be open for those with advanced level skills.   The following trails, Hailey's Run, Sunbelt, Eclipse and Infinity, will be the next terrain to open when conditions permit.  This will allow all levels of skiers and riders to enjoy the mountain.   Paul Trippi, the new Mountain Manager, comments, "The recent arctic blast from Canada has enabled our mountain operations team to get a jump on snowmaking this year."   Bristol Mountain will celebrate its 50th anniversary this season.  "This is not just a business celebrating a historical milestone, it's families celebrating their children growing up at Bristol Mountain and now raising their children as skiers and snowboarders at Bristol Mountain.  My own daughter, Jill, has grown up here along with many of her friends",  exclaims, marketing director, Drew Broderick. Some of the improvements that have happened over the past fifty years include:  two high speed detachable quad lifts, Magic Carpet conveyor lift, the addition of two terrain parks, increased trails to 34, ski in, ski out lodging, upgrades in snowmaking and grooming technologies, Summit Nordic and Demo Center, additional lodges (Sunset, Event Center and Morning Star Café), plus extensive renovations to the iconic Rocket Lodge which included Carver's Kitchen.  General Manager, Dan Fuller, is quick to credit the staff's hard work.  "Our staff has put in an incredible amount of effort to prepare for opening day and to provide our guests with the best possible on-snow and off-snow experience all season long."  On Wednesday, November 27th , The Flying Boxcars will provide musical entertainment for a 50th Anniversary Après Ski event in the Satellite Lounge from 4pm-7pm. Carver's Kitchen will be open with a limited menu during the same time period.    We invite our season passholders, day guests, and employees to join us to celebrate the start of this season.
