ORDA logoLake Placid, NY – The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) announces details for a trio of exciting fall festivals coming to the Olympic Region this fall.    

Jumpapalooza   

The USA Nordic National Championships, U.S. Ski Jumping competition, and U.S. Nordic Combined National Championships all converge at Lake Placid’s Olympic Jumping Complex Friday evening, September 30, and Saturday, October 1. Jumpapalooza is both a festival and competition. The event showcases elite athleticism in the sports of Nordic and ski jumping, with athletes soaring to national titles while also featuring great food and live music. Music provided by the bands Annie in the Water on Friday evening and The Big Takeover on Saturday. Friday evening’s festivities also include fireworks after dark.    

General admission to Jumpapalooza is $20 for both days (adults and teens 13+), $15 for juniors and seniors (seven to 12 and 65+), and free for children six and under. Jumpapalooza attendees can enjoy the Olympic Jumping Complex’s Skyride gondola and the Sky Flyer zipline.  Tickets for the Skyride gondola are $20 for adults and teens 13+, $15 for juniors ages 7-12, and for seniors 65+, and free for children ages six and under. Tickets for the Sky Flyer Zipline are $45 for all ages. Entry to this event is free for ORDA ‘22-’23 season passholders. Oktoberfest 

Complete with live music, dancing, food, and beer, Oktoberfest is a long-standing tradition welcoming fall visitors in authentic Alpine style. In fact, Ski Magazine rates the Whiteface festival among the five “must-visit” Oktoberfest events in North America.  The event is held Saturday, October 1, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday, October 2, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.  

Oktoberfest offers abundant activities for children, including face painting, carnival rides, arts and crafts, balloon animals, and the Whiteface Adventure Zone, all of which are featured throughout the day on each day of the festival.    

One-day entry to the Oktoberfest festival is $16 for adults or $25 with a gondola ride if purchased online. A two-day package is $35 and includes the gondola ride. Tickets are available at the gate for juniors ages 7-12 and seniors 65+ and are $10 or $26 with the gondola ride. Children 12 and under are free. Entry to this event is free on Sunday for ORDA ‘22-’23 season passholders. Tickets and further details are available at whiteface.com.    

Flaming Leaves Festival  

The nation’s top ski jumpers go head-to-head at the three-day FIS Continental Cup, hosted at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid, Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. In addition to elite athletes soaring off the HS 128-meter ski jump, live music will be provided by the bands Sonic Boom and A House on Fire, food and beverage vendors, and activities for the whole family.    

General admission to the Flaming Leaves Festival is $20 for a single day or $40 for all three days (adults and teens 13+), $15 each day or $30 for all three days for juniors and seniors (seven to 12 and 65+), and free for children six and under.  Like Jumpapalooza, festivalgoers can enjoy the Olympic Jumping Complex’s Skyride gondola and the Sky Flyer zipline.  Tickets for the Skyride gondola are $20 for adults and teens 13+, $15 for juniors ages 7-12, and for seniors 65+, and free for children ages six and under.
