February is the month for skiing and riding and the Belleayre calendar is packed with fun family events and great deals for everyone. Saturday, February 5 ~ Scout Day Calling all Scouts. Saturday, February 5 is the next Scout Day. Scouts and their immediate family members will ski for $34.00 per person. Rentals are just $23.00. Bring a valid Scout ID to any ticket window to receive the Scout rate for the entire family. All Scouts are entitled to a free any level group lesson with the purchase of their area use ticket. Group of 15 or more, please make reservations in advance by calling ext. 2474. * All those interested in taking the Scout Merit Badge Program must be blue square skiers/boarders or better. The troop leader must submit a sheet with First/Last Name, Age, Ability, Ski or Snowboard to the Belleayre ski school desk that morning. Meeting time and place will be announced then. Belleayre invites people to support a worthy cause in the Rip Van Winkle Boy Scout Council Charity Race and Breakfast. In the morning on February 5, Belleayre concessionaire Centerplate is proud to support the Rip Van Winkle Boy Scout Council by donating the proceeds from a hot breakfast the morning of the race. Pay $20 for a complete hot breakfast buffet in the Overlook Lounge and fuel up for a fun filled Scout Day on Belleayre Mountain while supporting a good cause. Later that day join the Race to Support Rip Van Winkle Boy Scout Council, open to the public. The first 200 people to enter receive a $25 lift ticket and proceeds go to support the Rip Van Winkle Council Boy Scouts. The awards ceremony will happen at 3 pm outside Overlook Lodge. Helmets are required. Potter Brothers Flex Day ~ Sunday, February 6 Sunday, February 6 is the next Potter Brothers Flex Days. Buy your lift ticket at any Potter Brothers store for only $27.95. Please note: Potter Brothers Flex Tickets can only be purchased at Potter Brothers stores and are not available on the mountain. ASIA Bump Festival ~ February 5-6 ASIA is running a 2 day Bump Clinic on Saturday February 5 and Sunday February 6. With a Mogul Intro and Mogul Improvement Clinics ASIA will teach you the basic techniques needed to navigate the "Bumps", and if you are already skiing the "Bumps", the clinics will help improve your skills and make you a better mogul skier. The Bump Festival will provide 2 days of unmatched skiing and learning taught by hand picked PSIA and CSIA coaches. Ray Owens says, "I learn something new every year!" It's a Skiing Best Buy, at only $210.00! Judging by the attendance, which is growing every year, it looks like this has become another favorite event for ASIA members. The Clinics Mogul Introduction is for those who want to improve their skills on blue and black diamond groomed terrain, and learn the tactics for skiing in beginner and intermediate moguls. Mogul Improvement is for folks who are comfortable on most terrain on the mountain, and have experience skiing intermediate moguls. The Details ASIA has breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, a Saturday night buffet, which includes music and dancing, along with lift tickets and two days ofinstruction, taxes and gratuities. WKNY Race Saturday February 12, 2011 The Annual Challenge Race is proudly sponsored by Belleayre Mountain Ski Center, WKNY (1490 AM) of Kingston, NY and Centerplate. The race is for the benefit of the Community Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, NY. Complete the registration form on the back and mail ONLY the registration form, with your preregistration fee of $14.90, to WKNY, 718 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401. All pre-registrations must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 11th. Pre-registered racers do not need to buy a lift ticket. Belleayre Mountain will provide lift tickets at check-in on race day. Anyone not registered before February 11th must buy a regular lift ticket and pay the additional $14.90 registration fee. Belleayre Mountain is a year-round outdoor recreation area in the Catskill Mountains operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
