“Tree Exploration Walk” on Saturday, February 18
Staatsburg, N.Y. (2/7/2023) — Despite them being all around us, what do we really know about the trees in our local environment? Kids can join Staatsburgh State Historic Site staff for a free, 45-minute guided landscape walk exploring some of the different types of trees found on the grounds of Staatsburgh, along the Hudson River. Staff will guide children ages 7-12 in exploring some of the benefits of various trees, from feeding local animals to beautifying our environment.
“Tree Exploration Walk” is on Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m., and on Sundays March 5 and March 12 at 1:00 p.m. This program is free, but advanced registration is required at www.Bookeo.com/StaatsburghSHS. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The walk is approximately a mile on uneven terrain, so please remember to wear proper footwear and dress for February weather. Inclement weather will cancel the program; registered patrons will be notified in the event of cancellation.
Visitors can also reserve a guided tour of the Staatsburgh mansion (admission fee applies): www.Bookeo.com/StaatsburghSHS
