oswego-county.JPGOswego, N.Y. - More than 100 French and British military re-enactors, Native American warriors and historians will re-create the colorful military life of Fort Ontario during the French and Indian War period Saturday and Sunday at Fort Ontario State Historic Site, Oswego. "Attack on the Rear Guard" battle recreations will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30 and 11 a.m. Sunday, July 1. Presenters include:
  • Steven Perkins, battle narration, historian specializing in French military history
  • Shari Crawford, early American activities specialist and teacher, 18th century toys and
  • games
  • Liaisons Plaissantes, period music performance
  • Randy Patton - historical maps
  • Mea Clift, medical programming
  • Sara Perkins, candle making
  • Sutlers selling variety of wares including clothing, powder horns, hand weapons, quillwork, Celtic merchandise, handcrafted jewelry, fine soaps and other 18th century goods
Fort Ontario State Historic Site is located at the foot of East Fourth Street in the City of Oswego. Regular admission will be charged.
