The Museum combines the world's leading collections of photography and film with an active program of exhibitions, lectures, film screenings, and the National Historic Landmark house and gardens of George Eastman, the father of popular photography and motion picture film. Eastman House is also a leader in film preservation and photograph conservation, educating archivists and conservators from around the world. The collection of photographs includes 500,000 photographs and negatives dating from the invention of the medium to the present day and features original vintage works in every medium. More than 14,000 photographers are represented in the collection, including most ever major figure in the history of photography.
