Adirondack Region, N.Y. - This year's lineup of Adirondack holiday festivals includes a celebration straight out of a Laura Ingalls Wilder book, and skiing and riding with Old Saint Nick.

‘Gifting the Adirondacks' Holiday Fair, December 5-6, at the Adirondack Folk School in Lake Luzerne, features a wide selection of handcrafted works of art for sale.
Artisans from the school will showcase their creations, and offer demonstrations on everything from woodworking to basket making. Free admission.
Almanzo Wilder Farm Christmas Celebration, December 6, offers a holiday festival straight out of a novel. Literally. As the boyhood home of famed author Laura Ingalls Wilder's husband, the farm, located in Burke, is an idyllic setting for a holiday gathering. Guests will enjoy homemade cookies, Christmas carols, children's activities, shopping in the farm store, and readings of Wilder's Farmer Boy. Free admission.
Lake Placid Holiday Village Stroll, December 12-14 in Lake Placid, is the region's official kickoff to the holidays, offering a weekend of shopping specials, wine and food tastings, as well as activities for kids and adults. New this year is the Adult Cocktail Mixology course at The Whiteface Lodge, and a Holiday Gala Inspired by Downton Abbey, featuring a costumed dinner and an advance screening of the season five premier.
Adirondack Coast Wine Trail Holiday Open House will be
held on December 13th at participating vineyards along the Adirondack Coast of Lake Champlain. Enjoy the holidays, sample locally made wine and cider, and shop for unique, New York State gifts. Slated for 12 - 5 pm.
Ski with Santa & Mrs. Claus at Titus Mountain in Malone on Christmas Eve for one last bid at the "Nice List," before the Jolly Old Elf heads to the North Pole.
First Night Saranac Lake, held annually on New Year's Eve, offers an evening of arts and live performances including dancing, music, storytelling and more. All venues are alcohol-free, providing an evening of family-friendly activities.
