Poughkeepsie, NY– Dutchess Tourism, Inc., operating as Film Dutchess in the industry, will host an exciting film conference, Tuesday, June 5 at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Organized in partnership with the Orange County NY Film Office, Stockade Works and the Hudson Valley Film Commission, this informative event will connect industry professionals and share knowledge on various topics while also helping businesses and municipalities learn how to become part of the growing Hudson Valley film industry.
In addition to a networking reception, the day will include breakout sessions, panels and presentations covering topics from film industry trends, casting, job training and film festivals to local economic development opportunities. The conference will feature a broad list of speakers including: actor/director Mary Stuart Masterson; Jerry Stoeffhaas, deputy director of the NYS Governor’s Office for Motion Picture & TV Development; and producer William Horberg, Chair of the Producer’s Guild of America East. According to Hudson Valley Film Commission Founder & Director Laurent Rejto, the film industry in the Hudson Valley generated more than $30 million in direct spending in 2017. Rejto will lead a discussion on the many benefits that film & TV productions bring to the region including job creation and other economic opportunities. Other topics of conversation will include location needs, insurance, liability and permit info, as well as other related issues.
