Craobh Dugan-O’Looney’s Irish MusicOsceola, N.Y. – The North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame and Museum will host Craobh (pronounced CRAVE) Dugan-O’Looney’s  Irish Music on Sunday, June 28, from 2:00-5:00 pm. The Museum is at 1121 Comins Road in Osceola. Craobh Dugan-O’Looney is the local (Utica & Rome) not-for profit branch of a traditional Irish Musicians’ Association known as Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann. The purpose of this organization is to preserve traditional Irish music, song, dance, and the Irish Gaelic language.

Founded in 1977 by Pat & Frank Dugan , musicians play a variety of acoustic instruments, including accordion, fiddle, flute, pennywhistle, bodhran, mandolin, guitar, bouzouki, banjo, uillcan pipes and harp. They will present traditional Irish music with a chance to dance and to hear traditional Gaelic. There will also be an opportunity in mid-afternoon for a jam session.

Admission is free. Ample parking on the west side of the shared driveway is free. There is plenty of seating in the covered pavilion with its dance floor and nearby play area for children. The pavilion can be enclosed in case of inclement weather. The brick patio has picnic tables and umbrellas. The Museum and Hall of Fame are open during public events. The grounds are handicap accessible.  The site is smoking free, drug free, and pet-free.

Coming on July 5th, the Fiddlers’ Central Chapter will honor the United States’ 250th anniversary as well as the memory of Jessie Gotham, their long-time accompanist. The afternoon will begin with a traditional dish-to-pass Independence Day picnic at 12:30, followed by the concert at 2:00 pm.
