Taste NYComplimentary Hot Sauce Sampling on Saturday, August 13

Queensbury, NY — Did you know that there are thousands of varieties of hot peppers in the world, used to make countless varieties of hot sauce? There are so many choices, but Taste NY at the Adirondacks Welcome Center has made it simple for you! We have curated a list of a dozen of the most interesting and unique hot sauces made in New York State, which will be featured in the Vending Market this August.

The public is invited for a complimentary hot sauce sampling on Saturday, August 13 from 1-2 pm. All sauces are available for purchase in the Taste NY Vending Market for the entire month of August (or until inventory runs out!).

Here’s what Taste NY producers want you to know about their sauces:

  • Hot Stuff Sauce — Syracuse, NY

    • Chihuahua - Don’t be fooled…this Chihuahua hot sauce might have a little dog bite, but it’s loaded with some serious pepper flavor! Add it to your eggs, tacos, burgers, fries…pretty much anything that needs a little Hot Stuff flavor bomb!

    • Holla-Peño - Sound the alarms…this Holla-peño hot sauce makes some serious noise! Put this sauce on just about anything and everything for the perfect amount of flavor and heat you want in your hot sauce…now that’s something to talk about!

    • Guava Ghost - The hottest hot stuff we got! This guava and ghost pepper combination is straight up fire. Toss a little of this on all your food faves and tell us if you can feel your face after!

  • Fat Crow Gourmet — Troy, NY

    • Chile Lime Sauce - The perfect pairing of chiles and lime with a blend of spices to kick up the heat. Tacos never tasted so good!

    • Maple Chipotle - Our popular sauce has the perfect balance of chipotle spiciness and New York maple syrup sweetness. Add some zest to your chicken and burgers or dip your favorite fries and tots into this smoky sweet and spicy sauce.

  • Poor Devil Pepper Co — Hudson, NY

    • Mountain Mama - One spicy mama! Raw * live * probiotics .

  • Queen Majesty Hot Sauce — Queens, NY

    • Scotch Bonnet & Ginger - Queen Majesty Scotch Bonnet & Ginger Hot Sauce has a vibrant flavor and a slow-burning heat. The brightness of the ginger and lemon work perfectly to spice up soups and curries or mix a little with honey and use for sweet potatoes or wings. This surprisingly versatile sauce can be added to all your favorite dishes.

    • Manzano Serrano (Limited Edition) - We were recently gifted some bushels of Manzano peppers and when life hands you Manzanos, you make Manzano Serrano hot sauce!

  • The Truffleist — Long Island City, NY

    • Truffleist Hot Sauce - Bring the heat to your truffle game with this award-winning hot sauce, created in partnership with Tango Chile Sauce. Use as a dipping sauce for fries and chicken wings or top your favorite foods like avocado toast and nachos.

  • Karma Sauce — Rochester, NY

    • Cherry Bomb - True to its name, this sauce takes heat-rich habanero chiles to a foundation of real sour cherries for a combination of fruity sweetness and unmistakable fire. Cherry Bomb has taken home over 20 trophies since its debut in 2012, making it one of the most award-winning hot sauces of the past decade. Try it with chicken, lamb, or duck for a blast of distinctive flavor!

    • Good Karma - An unlikely fusion of habanero and autumnal Finger Lakes ingredients, the flavors in Good Karma are so good that we built an entire business around it!

    • Holé Molé - Loosely inspired by the traditional Mexican marinade, Holé Molé takes 100% pure Mexican chocolate and fuses it with fresh habanero and a variety of sweet dark fruits like blackberry, fig, mulberry, and plum. The result is a sweet and spicy finish worthy of both your abuela's carnitas and James Kenji López-Alt's Chicken Chile Verde!

About Taste NY
The Taste NY initiative has seen steady growth and recognition since it was created in 2013. The program, which is overseen by the Department of Agriculture and Markets, creates opportunities for local producers to showcase their goods at a variety of venues throughout the State and at large public events, such as the Great New York State Fair and the Barclays Tournament at Bethpage State Park. It has also helped the farms and companies participating in the program to reach more customers, increase online sales, and, in many cases, expand the processing capacity of their business. Taste NY’s food and beverage businesses also support the state’s farmers by using New York grown and produced ingredients in their products.
